(A Guide for Chris)
(A Guide for Chris)
Have you ever felt like the person on the right after a (too-short) game of Othello? I've witnessed this first hand, thus inspiring me to create this training to elevate you from novice to a champion.
Follow along to learn common mistakes, blunders, and everything in between. Hopefully with this guide, you too will be able to avoid being skunked in only a few rounds!
Just like a delicious Jet's pizza, corner control is key in Othello! Try to secure corners early to establish strong footholds that are difficult for your opponents to penetrate. These provide stability and expansion opportunity!
Employ flanking maneuvers to pressure opponent positions from multiple directions, creating dilemmas and forcing unfavorable trades
Strive to establish stable disc formations that are resistant to being flipped by opponent moves. Create formations with few vulnerable points and reinforce critical positions.
Sometimes you find yourself facing an unbeatable champion. There's no shame in walking away in these scenarios
